Sellers should be careful, "they" have a plan forming here -- instead of old school Fed intervention (how droll), they are going to dress up Fannie & Freddie with those Bill Gross designer hooker heels and some lipstick as a federal reincarnation of New Century Financial using relaxed rules to re-fi all those nasty bad loans out there.

So the government is taking steps here to cover the mark with the taxpayer's money -- like as if this is a surprise.

Voila, no more looming tsunami of ARMs resets and no more acute liquidity crisis -- in its place you get a longer, more costly and drawn out crisis instead, but that's tomorrow's problem, and deferring problems to a later date rather than solving them is still de rigeur in Washington and New York.

Did I mention the part about killing the Clownbuck by all this new debt creation in order to re-mortgage housing values that have already disappeared? But WTF cares about the dollar when you have a nominal stock and real estate market to artificially support.

One of many stories now breaking about this proposed stunt --
