patron,

The Chinese fascinate me, and I think they are clever enough not to telegraph their intentions with enough repeatability to allow them to be gamed. Sometimes they say the exact opposite of what they really plan to do, and sometimes they state their actual intentions. Contrast that with our official clowns who pretty much are always lying.

I think this latest threat is the real deal. I wonder if the Chinese really understand the end game of that day when the American consumer is really tapped out. I know that day will never ever come and we shouldn't make any bets on it (at least not until we see three months of increasing magnitude decline in consumer spending during the holiday months), but at some point the Chinese must recognize that this sell on credit game will end.

So protectionism is the current hot button for the Chinese. Serious enough for them to take their toys and go home.

Interesting times.

I just want to know when gold really makes a damn move. I have too much tied up in the physical that I could be using to buy APPLE with <ng>
