Trend for total personal income is up ... more recent numbers -

**************************************
EMBARGOED UNTIL RELEASE AT 8:30 A.M. EDT, TUESDAY, JULY 31, 2007

James E. Rankin: (202) 606-5301 (Personal Income) BEA 07-35
Michael Armah: 606-5302 (Personal Outlays)
Kurt Kunze: 606-9748 (Annual Revision)

PERSONAL INCOME AND OUTLAYS: JUNE 2007
REVISED ESTIMATES: 2004 THROUGH MAY 2007

Personal income increased $51.7 billion, or 0.4 percent, and disposable personal income (DPI)
increased $42.1 billion, or 0.4 percent, in June, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $11.1 billion, or 0.1 percent. In May, personal
income increased $50.5 billion, or 0.4 percent, DPI increased $41.1 billion, or 0.4 percent, and PCE
increased $62.5 billion, or 0.6 percent, based on revised estimates.

Those numbers do not include capital gains, since the methodology is based on a national accounts matrix.

So people are in better shape when capital gains are included in evaluating where the "consumer" stands.

Of course, most people at the 44k level don't get a lot of capital gains...

***************************************

The 44k people are going to fight back doing what ? Most of them don't make political donations is excess of $10, many of them don't vote in every election...

crime dramas : I like Da Vinci's Inquest, which is filmed in Vancouver, somewhat realistic, with lots of political infighting, three dimmensional characters, good acting etc.
The series ran for about 6 years. The audio and production values on the first ten episodes was a little poor - (you can hear the floors squeak during the dialog) but gets much better.

A gift from Canadian Taxpayers ;-)

Probably made the Vancouver tourist board cringe, as each episode tended to feature junkies and hookers.

Another good series is the original "Law and Order" - anything with Jerry Orbach (playing Lt. Lenny Briscoe) in it tends to be good. There is sometimes a dose of liberal politics toward the end. The other "Law and Order SVU" and Law and Order Criminal Intent" tend to be poorly done.

CSI: Las Vegas is interesting, but gruesome, lots of blood and gore, seems to do better with female audiences than with us delicate males. Much, much better than CSI: Miami
