i used those tables on the web. poor wife was drinking all day and peeing all day. doctor said i wouldn't go lower when i cut the calculated result in half. No problem when she was strong enough to get around however later it was really hard for her. I measured her intake because of the large amount of blood thinners she takes daily. 6mg and wanted to make sure she didn't get dehydrated on me. Later when i had visiting nurses two different ones said to give her water if thirsty and with meals if urine not getting dark and kidneys function she is in balance. hmmmmm. if you are not drinking enough water you will get darker urine or strong ammonia smell.

I know never measure after ten years of living by it. i would say bedridden she drinks around 40 oz. a day with medication, meals. I use an 8 oz sippee cup.

If you are drinking a gallon you made require some potassium chloride? you can flush out minerals from your body when drinking too much water. You may want to consider your doctor taking some blood after you start your program to make sure all your counts are within guidelines. i take it along with blood pressure pill and get leg cramps, at times.
