During WW2, the wealthy was asked to sacrifice as well as ordinary citizens to finance the war effort. Bush asks for no sacrifice for anybody except the soldiers and their families. If it is important enough to ask somebody to die for the cause, it is important enough to ask for higher taxes.

BS the country was in a depression for most of Roosevelt's term. The New Deal was a scam...trade freedom for more and more Govt ineptitude and power.
