Re: Intel's break-even is lower by about $4 or $5. For this break-even calculation the pre-tax figure is the appropriate one. Because if the business is at just break-even, there will be no income, and no income tax. Good point. But either way, it appears that Intel minimum sustainable ASP is lower than AMD's. This wasn't always the case, but seems to be the result of AMD's current cost structure, their debt interest payments, their acquisition of ATI, and other growth elements.
