Well, I sat in Okinawa during 1971-72 loading bombers...I remember quite a bit about those days..I wasn't in the heart of the struggle at that time, but frankly it was not where I wanted to be and by that time many of us wondered if the focus of the struggle might need to be reconsidered.

My wife's nephew is serving his second tour in Iraq now. He is a great soldier and he will always perform his mission. He is a smart young man and he recognizes that much of what has been done in Iraq has been a royal screw-up from a policy standpoint....does he take it personally? No. Does he want the policy "refocused"? Yes. Is his morale damaged by people critiquing our policy? I don't think so, but I'll ask him about it when he gets back next year...
