And one year ago C2D wasn't selling for list price a few weeks after introduction either:

This still looks like good news for AMD. These low-end C2Ds are
- limited to 1 per customer
- priced $60 above Intel's published list price.

Do you assume that the street price at Newegg.com is hurting demand for Intel products, or do you think that perhaps the price is driven by the high demand of Intel products...?

Many people here will argue that AMD is more competitive, because Intel's prices in retail are high. I have to laugh at this, because the prices wouldn't be high if people found AMD more attractive.
