To be honest, there is a lot of high-end finance speak in there that I dont understand. Basically it sounds like there is a rotten apple(mortgages) that is stinking up the whole fruit cart.

I think of it like this:

Capital(ism) is nothing more than men moving around piles of money.

Everyone has been sitting around a craps table for HOURS and 7 hasnt come up. Everyone's piles of chips are tall and getting taller. 7 still hasnt rolled. even the sucker bets like field and hard-ways are hitting. everyone's ante has been handed back to them in place bets time and time again. And the casino is NEVER going tp run out of chips. Even if 7 when 7 does eventually comes up and everyone's large table bet is cleared off the table and everyone loses, the game will start over. Any meager winnings not played will play again and the game will continue.
