Aren't there a lot of "computer knows best" movies going all the way back to the great: "Colossus, the Forbin Project", wherein the American computer designed to protect mankind gets together with its soviet counterpart and they decide together that humans are just too volatile and unstable, so the two computers take over everything and brook no backtalk from the humans, using extreme prejudice to keep us in line. The computers were really worried about being infected with human traits, as I recall...logic was so much better.
