Wasn't McKay one of the AUSA's that got fired? Ostensibly because he didn't investigate the election because he was doing his job and there wasn't enough evidence?


Yes to both questions. He was a voice of reason and calm during a particularly contentious period right after the election. The GOP candidate was convinced he had been screwed and his campaign was accusing every Dem. leader in the state of doing whatever it took, legally or illegally, to screw him. McKay was so reasonable and professional during this period, I figured he was a Dem. I was stunned when I found out he was GOP. He is like the Ripon GOPers I knew in MN. No wonder Gonzales canned him.
