Where do you live? Our local law enforcement does a fine job of protecting residents. They've been hampered in enforcing immigration laws by WashDC and special interest groups. Finally state troopers and local police have been given the green light from the feds to get the job done. It only took a revolution at the grassroots to deliver a strong message to the American peoples' public servants in the nation's capitol.

Complaint lines set up in response to sheriff's tip line for illegal immigrant reporting.
The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, other Hispanic groups and some elected officials plan to launch hotlines in response to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's pursuit of illegal immigrants.

Arpaio recently established a telephone tip line, encouraging callers to report possible illegal immigrants and human smugglers in the Phoenix region. Critics worry the hotline encourages ethnic profiling and discrimination against Hispanic workers and businesses
Arizona Rep. Steve Gallardo, D-Phoenix, said he wants to make sure Arpaio's office is not discriminating against Hispanics. He said complaints to that effect will be turned over to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Phoenix and might result in civil lawsuits.

Gallardo said volunteers will man the complaint lines, which will become active Aug. 13. Other groups and individuals involved include the Hispanic Chamber, Valley Interfaith Project, Arizona Coalition for Immigrant Rights, Arizona Rep. Ben Miranda and Maricopa County Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox.

The controversial sheriff has been aggressive in pursuing illegal immigrants and smugglers. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office set up a special unit to pursue migrant smugglers and arrested eight illegals during a traffic stop in the East Valley this week.

"My office will continue to gather intelligence information from the hotline, which reveals locations, trends and the operations of alien smugglers and other violators of the immigration laws," said Arpaio in a statement regarding those arrests.

Arpaio's hotline is 602-876-4154. The complaint numbers are 602-246-0653, 602-462-5050, 888-252-7555 and 602-254-5230.

Sheriff to Bar Illegals from Visiting County Jail Inmates
July 27th, 2007 @ 6:49am
Sheriff's deputies would do background checks on everyone who comes for a jail visit.

"We will be looking at some type of procedure where we identify illegals coming into the jail. They won't be able to come in."

When someone comes to the jail to visit an inmate, they're required to show ID. Arpaio says the background check will be completed before their next jail visit.

Those who can't prove citizenship would be denied a second visit and could be arrested.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio says one man decides who gets to visit an incarcerated loved one. "I run the jail. I decide who goes in there."

"I run the jail and I have to be careful for security reasons."

Arpaio says screening jail visitors is nothing new. Since 2004, over 1,600 people with felony criminal histories have been turned away when trying to visit a Maricopa County jail inmate.

There was a time when INS did precisely that and successfully. That was before bleeding heart liberals (quite consciously in this state at least) castrated it, figuring any poor Mexican vote was a Democratic vote.

Let me see if I have this straight: He's wrong when he's wrong and he's wrong when he's right. Did I get that right? Because it sure sounds that way.

Oh, and the Dems are right when they're wrong and right when they're right, right?
