I am unclear about the preoccupation with Aug. 15th as an important date. As I understand the situation, hedge fund participants wanting to sell must specify their intent by Aug. 15th for the quarter ending Sept. 30th. Presumably, the funds have until the end of quarter to come up with the cash, and so I see any selloff to be be gradual. Also, hedge fund participants tend not to be passive, and I doubt many sellers remain on the fence.

Jim p,

I would add to that, not just money market funds.

I would include pension funds, most likely underfunded seeking higher returns.

Also include college endowments.

And the list goes on...

Just the tip of the iceberg, I say.

This is what Slider has been calling "the biggest transfer of wealth in history".

I believe this will result in social upheaval as folks realize they have been ripped off by the wealthy greedy bastards at the top of the food chain.

Dave.
