I am sitting here thinking "so what are the ramifications of this decision?". Duh! Obviously the big effect is that Jumbo loans will not be guaranteed and thus rates will continue to rise on them and downpayment requirements will be high.

It's all over for the high end housing market. Short the snot out of the luxury homebuilders Monday.

Why bother? In a year or so no homes will be selling for higher than the current threshold anyway!<G>
