Reagan was an excellent communicator of very destructive ideas for the USA over the longterm but at the time he seemed like a breath of fresh air. He made people forget about the enormous lies, waste and carnage of Vietnam, which was a completely unnecessary war which costs both Kennedy presidents their lives.

Sean Hannity likes to say Reagan ended the Cold War., But is the Kennedys had lived it would have been over a decade earlier without 55,000 Americans and 2,000,000 others killed.

Reagan-Bush were guilty of war crimes on Nicaragua and Iran, but
Reagan was the best the rightwing will ever have to hide their noxious, anti-people, anti-environment, anti-peace, anti-fairness policies behind. It was hard to dislike Reagan even though you knew his policies were wrong and only helped the few and richest. Reagan's policies also opened up the doors for the crimiunal Bush-Cheney regime of traitors which have basically handed America over to a small super elite corporate CEO club who have no loyalty to country or law whatsoever. A totally amoral bunch who want to screw us all over. Ironic that so-called "Christians" ally themselves with those villains.

There is no one remotely approaching Reagan's likability in today's GOP world. Reagan was also tempered by his very strong love to his liberal wife Nancy. And his liberal son Ron. Maureen and Michael were the outcasts. Maureen was liberal and angry and Michael was kind of an idiot dunce who now appears on Fox News pretending he echoes his father. Actually he echoes Karl Rove.

Also remember, in his last two years in office Reagan sadly was hit by Alhzeimers. So who was really running things? Was this the beginning of the Bush family infiltration of the American democracy? Though Bush Sr. seems a saint next to his villainous and incompetent son GW. GW turned to fascism as his answer for his own personal sense of impotence and rejection as Jeb was always the favorite son and GW the screw-up busted for cocaine as a youth. All covered up of course.
