(You mean the head of the Joint Chiefs, and the considered professional opinion of the Pentagon's war planners....) "I seem to remember some members of the military saying it might not be wise to disband the Iraqi military." (You mean the FIRST American 'proconsul' in Iraq... the professional military man they hustled out of there so fast so the 'Neo Cons' boy Bremmer could be put in place --- to try to advance their bizarre, illogical asset grab plans.) "I may be illiterate, but I do have a pretty good memory...LOL" (Apparently though that is not a requirement for the Bushie Fan Club. For that, a s-e-l-e-c-t-i-v-e memory is far more important. :-)

Nobody questions perhaps mistakes were made. Just as they have been in EVERY WAR THIS NATION HAS EVER FOUGHT. Thats just the way it works. You try something, you fail, you dont give up, you try something else. Apparently this "surge" is showing some good results, and the Sunni's "apparently" are beginning to tire of the civilian casualties etc caused by terrorists. POSSIBLY the tide is turning, this is not the time to GIVE UP. jdn
