George Bush thought that it is a "states rights" issue that should be left up to the states.

Then he got elected.

The majority have at some time hinted some kind of support.

So your question "Which candidates are in favor of legalizing pot"
is not as simple as it sounds.

I'll try to put a list together for you.

Here is a article about marijuana and presidential candidates.
It's difficult to place many of them in the pro or con lists.

One issue discussed is the current series of DEA raids out west.

If you didn't know, the DEA is deliberately targeting medical marijuana. Many people think there is more important work the federal law enforcement could be doing, instead of making sure sick people can't get medicine.
