The Nation is angry with congress for not moving directly to impeaching first Cheney, then Bush and de-funding the war. Democratic moderates are indeed being a bit timid. They also know that the rightwing has a ton of money to spend publicly lying about their "lack of patriotism". Bush-Cheney's debacle in Iraq has one more terrible effect on the USA as a result of this, slowing down our engines of government. Everyone with a brain knows we need to get out of Iraq ASAP but like Vietnam, it's gonna take time. But be advised, like in Viewtnam there was never anything to "win" in Iraq. It is a civil war we have no business sticking ourselves in the middle of. Those situations always end badly. Always.
