Still true, but in some areas other cities are catching up. Bangalore is better in information technology. Delhi and Chennai have better education. Calcutta may have more creative or arty types.

New York has people from everywhere in the world. Mumbai has people from all over India. Similar cities psychologically. Big presence of finance and media companies. Heavy reliance of public transportation. Everyone is in a hurry. High cost of living.
