You don't know what you are talking about.
The trouble is you think in terms of ordinary daily banking
activities in a typical city. You don't seem to have any comprehension of international finance and international law. So you think the US can continue to do as it pleases forever, eh? like some Wild West boss of old?

Know this: at one time the US hinted that it would curtail trade with China or not trade with it at all. China's response was that it didn't matter one iota as it has no shortage of eager trading partners and its survival does not depend on trade with the US. But why is the US eager to trade with China? Simply because no other nation could produce goods and merchandise that enables the US to keep US inflation under a semblance of "control". Like it or not, it is fact that America is living on borrowed time.

Oh, and by the way, all of us have heard news of poisonous and dangerous and shoddy Chinese goods and merchandise in the news recently. However, most of these negative news have been debunked. With such an immense volume of trade between the US and China, it is generally agreed that quality control can never be perfect for everything, to say nothing of a few rogue and profiteering manufacturers that fall through the cracks. Ditto remarks for US exports to China: for example, some Tyson foods --- beef -- and raisins were rejected by Chinese importers for a variety of defects/infractions!

The recent sensational news about China's exports was meant as a threat to China's world trade. But it fell flat, and Poulson was forced to make an unscheduled visit last week to persuade Hu not to spend its vast holdings of US dollars. Because if the Chinese were to do so, the declining dollar will decline much further, perhaps to the point where it will no longer be the world's reserve currency. China will lose, no doubt. But the US will lose far more ---- its prestige and its hegemony worldwide and it will be reduced to a "has been" and become the laughing stock of this planet for all time. You like that, doncha?

Many Americans have been so dumbed down by their education system and government media that they have become parochial and insular and superficial in their thinking and outlook on life. Indeed, most of them are obsessed with one thing --- CRAP. Anything they don't like or understand, and/or too lazy to learn more about, they knee-jerkedly call CRAP. So, what is one good name for these Americans --- CRAPPY AMERICANS!

The Chinese people are extremely intelligent people and love America; they want to be like us to enjoy the political and economic freedoms we have and still have.

IMO the talk about the bonds is financial saber rattling by those in power--------not the people.

China is changing. It takes time.
