same thing with the models at fitch, s&P and all the cdo models. none of them incorporated increased risks to the downside or skewed activities in their various market places.

from genius to cave man all in a day. and all of it unregulated, unregistered, and so far, unknown.

unless governments start buying up these truely zero coupons, i don't yet see how they can stop the damage. the pools are outside govermental sphere's of influence. forget cuts, and forget temporary cash injections. nothing more than rubber bullets bouncing off an armoured vehicle. ergo: the need for permanent cash will drive extraneous liquidations and/or simple acts of bankruptcy.
