Mike, "Chrichton, btw, is an idiot, but he writes a good novel." The Hollywood celebrity tree hugger set that flies around in their private jets and lives in enough square footage to house a small army would agree with you about Crichton being an idiot. I wonder if it's for the same reason. What exactly about Crichton's views do you see as idiotic? He, like you, seem to be on the leftward side of most issues. BTW - Just finished reading Crichton's latest book, Next. Looks like he's gone the way of Clancy. I hope neither Clancy nor Crichton bother writing another book if they are going to write something so second rate. And god knows that both gentlemen have made enough money to retire all of SI's membership if they wanted to. Come to think of it, Grisham's latest book, Innocent Man was a disappointment too. Craig
