i remember buying my son a small model rocket at the hobby center. cheapest one there. Not being familiar with regulations on firing off these things i called mt vernon police station to see if i could fire it off at public field. They couldn't give me a direct answer, basically it was not approved, next i called park department, got the same answer. I mean i had a little rocket , never fired one , so no idea what to expect. so went down to a public ball park early one saturday am with my son. we hooked it up, fired it... he was thrilled. i was amazed how fast it took off and never to be seen again. I was happy for him, unhappy i was out the bucks i just spent thinking the thing comes back down and i get to reuse it again with a new motor?

we walked all over those grounds never did find it and never saw it coming down. I assume it must have took off at an angle and may have shot out of the park area although it looked like it went straight up. it was small cardboard type.

I moved his interest to another hobby figured firing rockets could get expensive pretty fast.
