"As for perjury, there was none, not in the eyes of the law." ====== perjury: Law. the willful giving of false testimony under oath or affirmation, before a competent tribunal, upon a point material to a legal inquiry. dictionary.reference.com Regarding Clinton's January 17, 1998, deposition where he was placed under oath, Judge Susan Webber Wright wrote for his "willful failure" to obey her repeated orders to testify truthfully: "Simply put, the president's deposition testimony regarding whether he had ever been alone with Ms. (Monica) Lewinsky was intentionally false, and his statements regarding whether he had ever engaged in sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky likewise were intentionally false . . . ." In the eyes of the law, he is a liar. "I'd think a serious, honorable, dignified man like you, a man who claims to never lie, would be more careful with his words. No?" I have been careful in clarifying which issues I feel are pertinent, issues of honesty and abuses of office; you have been careful in your equivocation... as usual and not surprisingly. You must think that is something of value, not me.
