Finallythere, BPZ Energy (BZP) -- great call, I'm wishing I had done what you did but I didn't. I'll give it another coupla weeks and then reconsider.

For those that don't check the IV board on BPZ, here is a list of upcoming potential price catalysts:

8/17 -- Annual Meeting
______________________

They are doing a webcast for this.

8/22 -23 -- Enercom
_____________________

They sponsor a breakfast table on 8/22 and then on 8/23, after close of market, they do their hype show. Given that they recently have issued an operations update it would seem unlikely that they would do another one in conjunction with this show. Nevertheless the added exposure should be very helpful.

9/6 -- Morgan Keegan Conference
________________________________

As with last year, they will be presenting at this and will likely do a webcast for it. By this date the test of the oil zones in the 14D well, which are below the gas zones, may well have been completed. Thus, pay particular attention to the pitch of Manolo's voice at the point that he mentions the 14D well (heh heh). Also pay attention to what is going on with the direction of the stock price around this time. If the oil test was successful it would only be human nature that this news would start to leak out around this time. Morgan Keegan has been the main financier for this company almost since its inception, and many MK clients have been loyal BPZ investors throughout that period. If Manolo was going to let some good news slip to anybody, it would be most likely that he would do so with these guys.

*******************************************************************************

I got a clarification from Greg Smith the new IR guy that they definitely will not issue a PR on the 14D well similar to the one they put out on 11/16/06 when they hit TD on 21XD well. They do not plan to formally say anything about the 14D well until the testing of all zones has been completed. Of course this decision is subject to change, but its something to keep in mind over these next few weeks. In particular, don't get too bent out of shape if you see no news from the field.

"I wonder just how many are still holding this one? "

I'm holding a large position but the cost basis isn't all that bad. Have taken a hit but not enough to throw in the towel.

Still believe there is plenty of value in the stock especially at the current price.

Michael

Finallythere, BPZ Energy (BZP) -- Just curious whether you have bought back in or are considering it. My "lazy man's TA guide", stockta.com , has been flashing "Bullish" for the intermediate term for these last few days.

Or maybe you shorted the hell outta it today when you saw the intraday double top? <g>
