"oh bullshit by the time you got it out the reaction would be over. "

Well, at least we are past the point of your false claim that very few people carried cameras at that time. Good that you didn't try to push that lie very far.

Ok, here is where you have a problem. Even then, men in uniform were not all that commonly seen. So they tended to attract people with cameras. In addition, being in an airport was still a bit of a novelty for most people, so the odds of a camera being ready to use was fairly high. In addition, said hypothetical war protesters would likely have been anxious to immortalize the moment and someone, somewhere would have arranged for a photo to be snapped at the appropriate moment. Finally, if such events were even moderately common, the "liberal press" would have arranged to have a photographer hang around such points to snap a shot of this event.

But, despite the odds being rather high of a picture being taken, it never happened. Not once. Ever. Not only that, there was nothing in the news during the war years of such an event. In addition, there never was a report of a returning vet, stepping off a plane and being spat upon, responding in the way one would expect. Sure, some might have just swallowed their pride and done nothing, but every one? Yet, there is no police reports and no trial records about such events.

The only reports of such events were years after the event. Which, if it occurred, seems odd.

"I guess you don't remember back then people saying how come we haven't photoed a plane crashing?"

Not sure what you are talking about. Planes have been photographed crashing.
