Yes grilling them and melting that cream cheese and adding the smoked flavor and char is quite nice.

Here are some crackers that your guests will enjoy, especially the wine drinkers. I do this both with blue and sharp cheddar.

2 cups all purpose flour
1t freshly ground black pepper
1/2t salt
1/2 pound unsalted butter at room temp
1/2 pound blue cheese at room temp
1 cup finely chopped walnuts

Sift together dry ingredients
Cream the butter and cheese with an electric mixer
Add the dry ingredients and mix
Fold in the nuts with a wooden spoon
Drop the batter by heaping teaspoons onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 15 to 18 minutes until golden.

Oven is at 350 by the way.
