"Yeah, my friend who is a lieutenant in the Stryker Brigade and spent a year and a half in Iraq won't talk about his time there."

Which was typical of those in Vietnam who actually saw action. The ones with big war stories tend to be the ones who were far behind the lines. The ones on the pointed end of the stick don't feel nostalgic and would rather not revisit those memories.

Yeah, my friend who is a lieutenant in the Stryker Brigade and spent a year and a half in Iraq won't talk about his time there.

"I'm home, I have ten fingers and ten toes, and I'm not saying any more than that."

I see guys on the street all the time now....missing an arm and/or a leg. There is one guy at my gym.......did two tours over in Iraq.......his left leg was blown off on his second tour. You got to know that wearing that fake leg makes you tired trying to keep your balance all day. They will have to spend the rest of their lives like that. And for what? Iraq is in Iran's orbit now.......America's arch enemy is in control. The whole thing is so stupid I want to punch someone bad.
