Umm, let's see. You are taking the word of someone on the other side, many years after the event. And this, by the way, directly contradicts the earlier post you linked to. Which had the Viet Cong, who had been eliminated, ready to surrender. And, despite being wiped out, continued to fight.

You are being played and don't even recognize it.
