How North Vietnam Won The War You want to have a discussion about Vietnam......okay. But let's go all the way back before their was a Tet offensive to a time where there was no Americans fighting in Vietnam. Now here we are.....its leave-it-to-beaver time........allegedly America's golden age. What in hell could prompt us to go fighting a war halfway around the world? After all, there was no al Qaida then and very little terrorism. Let's see.....what was so urgent and threatening. Oh yeah.......the domino theory. Eisenhower[sp?] came up with the domino theory. If S. Vietnam fell to the Chinese, then it was only matter of time before the rest of SE Asia would fall as well.........Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar/Burma, Thailand, Pakistan, India etc. Eventually communism was to spread to AU and NZ. If I remember my history, Eisenhower sent over some troops...not many even though his theory had him very worried. Then along comes Kennedy.......I guess he wanted to prove he was as macho as the GOPers so he send more troops. Then Johnson comes a long.....crazier than all three of them and starts a full fledge war.......all because of this domino theory. And lets not get into the little lie promulgated by Johnson.......I might have to go barf. Flash forward.......nearly 50 years. Did AU fall to communism? No. How about NZ? No again. India? Nada. Burma? Nyet. Thailand? Nein. Pakistan? Non. What countries are communistic in SE Asia.....just three small ones.....Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. This is what so many Americans died for.......and the ones who didn't die maimed for life? What kind of nonsense is this? A cockamamie theory that proved to be wrong cost this country the lives of what.......600K Americans, countless wounded......and billions of dollars. What kind of insanity are you promoting on this thread? Please....I want to understand how you can side with the Lesters of this world and promote their illogical premises? Seriously, when are the citizen hawks of this country going to wake up and start thinking for themselves instead of being led down the primrose path by leaders who have an agenda that benefits mainly them and their friends? When? Please......the current generations are the best educated ones produced by this country. We can stop this madness if we would just stop drinking the koolaid. If you go over our history for the past 50-60 years, our leaders have not had the American people's interests at heart. And the reason they got away with their hubris is because we were not paying attention. The internet is a great teaching tool. Go back and see what really went on during those years......not the propoganda they fed us but the real deal. Its in the congressional records, its in letters of that time. This madness has to stop....the world is too small for this American brand of machismo!
