Going "house to house" in an Urban environment the way we and the Israelis do it results in the highest casualty rate possible for Infantry. SF finds fixes and uses CAS on terrorist locations. Most Infantry units use Artillery, tank, and/or CAS support for the same purpose. Fully 50% of our casualties today are from IEDs, most of the remainder are from other types of ambushes, aircraft incidents, vehicle wrecks, suicides, etc. Very few are from combat in cities where we are attacking houses or buildings. In fact for a war, our casualty rate has been incredibly and extraordinarily low.
