Gold shares can be very volatile. XAU was cut in half in
1987. That's the problem with bears - they too have faith in
the Fed and are long gold shares. Gold too has cycles. We are
close to the bottom of the 1-year cycle, but we passed the top
of 9-year cycle. Gold could lead commodities down into
recession, on credit liquidity evaporation. Tough call what
it will do. It is in a secular bull though.
