Yes. Which is the way it should be.

No. There were hurting. They couldn't afford the luxury of ideology.

Yes. And that was to get out of the hole that they had dug for themselves. Both the Labor and the National party had contributed shovels to the campaign. It just happened to be the Labor party that started the ball rolling on filling the hole, but the National party built on it.
