Yeah, I guess we aren't getting a follow-through on yesterday's strong close. HP should continue to hold up well, though.

I was just surprised at the lack of posts.

I think it has more to do with the merger of CPQ with HWP shareholders here at SI into one group on a HPQ thread than an interest of individual shareholders (most of whom are LTers) in how HPQ is doing. Before the merger, the CPQ thread was VERY active whereas the HWP one was not. Just compare the total number of postings for the original threads (97608 vs. 4720):

CPQ Compaq 97608 postings (last one 06/20/2002) Started: 3/2/1996

Subject 2352

HWP -- Hewlett Packard 4720 postings (last one 11/16/2006) Started: 4/23/1996

Subject 3566

As an ex-CPQ shareholder, it seems to me the _thread_ camaraderie got lost in the buy-out. This is probably part of the reason HPQ releases earnings and the thread remains quiet--people read the earnings, but most do not bother to stop by the thread to either post results or expect to find others wanting to discuss them.
