Cuts in the discount rae usually are followed soon by cuts in the funds rate.

Countrywide debt sold as low as 73 cents on the dollar yesterday. Probably a good number for what the cramdown of mortgage debt might be in the worst bubble markets in the next couple of years. It rebounded a bunch today.
