""Analysts for CIBC told clients in a note published Friday following meetings with Qualcomm's Chief Executive Paul Jacobs and Chief Operating Officer Sanjay Jha that the company is "resetting its legal strategy and reallocating assets."

Slacker, other dividends seekers...

This is exactly why you don't spend anything until you get some certainty. As it stands now absolutely everything appears to be up in the air. My estimation is that by the first calendar quarter of 2009 Q will have more clarity of w/r/t its legal position against nok and brcm, after which a special dividend can be declared... but not until Q is officially off the ropes and has landed a few punches, appears to be on their feet, and that their 'weaponry' is in working order.

I wonder if some of the more knowledgeable members of this forum could start a thread to discuss the impact of Spinco.

Specifically I am totally in the dark as to what it would mean in terms of value to the shareholders. I assume we would all get an equal number of shares in both of the resulting companies, but my concern is how the market will likely value each of the parts.

Will the sum of the parts be greater or less, than the whole?

Thanks
