CSFB on SONS

Not a specific report, just part of an industry report:

SONS as a play on VoIP. With seemingly everyone focusing once again on
SONS’s ability to achieve near-term guidance following its disappointing June
second quarter earnings announcement, here is the opportunity for those with
time horizons that extend beyond 6 months. While volatile, the VoIP market
opportunity remains robust, with 20+% five-year CAGR. The most prominent
change vis-a-vis SONS, I would argue, is that it continues to deepen its
penetration of the tier one service provider account base while its larger
competitors continue to struggle. Sonus has secured an additional three top 20
global carriers in 1H07
. While timing is always an issue, these carriers should
drive incremental downstream revenue on the order of at least 5 - 10%. Stock
has pulled back 40+% from its recent highs. Every time we have had a pullback
of this nature--and we have had more than one such pull-back over the
past two years--has proved a great buying opportunity.
