8/24/07 update
Despite the putrid odor of decaying hedge fund corpses in the air, Wall Street managed to get its act together. Thus, at Friday's bell, the Nasdaq Biotech Index actually closed up 1.25% YTD (vs. down -.28% YTD a week ago). However, the smaller-cap stocks in Charity Contest portfolios still appeared a bit woozy from their prior beatings, with the Contest median ending the week almost exactly where it began, down -9.07% YTD (vs. down -9.02% YTD a week ago).
At week's end, 13 of the 31 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with 10 of the 31 beating the NBI.
Friday's COR crash resulted in a realignment of the Contest's Top Ten list. TECHNET (up 16.6% YTD) is now in the lead with the ARQL bounce helping MOPGCW (up 13.7% YTD) move to second place.
