"Europeans Outlaw Net Hate Speech"

Lots of forms of hate speech are illegal here, also. Other forms of speech can get you jailed. Just try to carry on a conversation about hijacking an airplane while standing in line to clear security at an airport. Or show up at a Bush rally wearing a T-shirt saying something negative about Bush.

I mean, I can understand your anger over not being allowed to be a Holocaust denier. But there are plenty of ways we have our freedom of speech curtailed.

longnshort,

Specifically, the amendment bans "any written material, any image or any other representation of ideas or theories, which advocates, promotes or incites hatred, discrimination or violence, against any individual or group of individuals, based on race, colour, descent or national or ethnic origin, as well as religion if used as pretext for any of these factors."

Good thing most of the posters are posting from the US. I think a creative prosecutor would find enough posts from every poster on this thread to have us all locked up.

Bureaucrats run amok.
