Good on you!

We packed up and moved a lot of stuff to our old offices on Kirby because that complex sat up real high even though Kirby does flood. When we saw that the storm had changed it's mind, we packed up and went back home. I saw all the gridlock as I was going back to town instead of away and was so very glad we chose to stay.

All the houses on our cul-de-sac were boarded up with the exception of ours. I, armed with 500 rounds of ammo and my trusty rifle, kept watch over our little section of the world. We did have one car full of people show up but they took off as soon as they saw me standing, armed and ready to fire, in the doorway. I later learned they had broken into several other houses in my sister-in-law's neighborhood just down a ways from ours. Same car, same plate number.

We plan to stay unless Dean decides to make landfall in Galveston, Freeport and there abouts. As it looks now, that's not going to be the case. It's still a long way out and they have that nasty habit of changing direction. We'll take a look see Tuesday and make a decision then. We've got two dogs, one young one too old to make a trip anywhere so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
