There are two "Bridges to Nowhere"...

The proposed bridge to the little island is in Ketchikan. The road is for access to the airport, but the traffic volume is low so the existing ferry is adequate. I doubt this bridge will be built anytime soon.

OTOH, Anchorage is a large growing city and the proposed bridge across the Knik Arm tidal inlet would open up much land for development. This one has partial public funding, but may need private funding for completion.
