The good thing is that we would win either way. If the world transitions to a new era of peace and harmony we will benefit along with everyone else.

If wars break out everywhere and the new nuclear powers decide to try their hand at blowing up their neighbors we should stand aside and let them learn some painful lessons. We should be mostly unaffected if we are not party to the conflicts, as we would still retain vast nuclear capacity and nobody should want to tangle with us. If they do we send them back beyond the stone age quick.

Either way we loose the burden and the stigma of "world policeman".
