At the risk of repeating myself.....

Nice urban housing in Europe tends to be expensive because the supply is limited, and many countries don't crank out tract suburbs 100 lots at a time like clockwork. Most urban centers no longer have the land to build them on.


If the Euros built tract housing the way we do, the prices would be reduced a lot. They choose not to in most places and pay up for smaller, inferior housing. To each their own.

I was surprised to hear that so much bogus US paper ended up in big European institutional hands since those guys are usually more conservative than your great Uncle Earl who survived the Depression and the death march on Bataan.
