china has replaced our manufacturing base and India is filling the serivce industry. You hit the nail on the head. We have been living in an ozzie and harriet world and I fear mostly how we will react when our economy goes down the tubes. Hitler rose out of the ashes of Germany's defeat in the first world war. 9/11 allowed the neo cons to suspend habeaus corpus and get the congress to go along with a bogus war. Will we turn to hegemony and rioting in the streets in the event of a great depression? Our grandfathers and grandmothers were tough and they had trouble with the great depression. What will a society do more interested in Paris Hilton and Anna Nicole smith than understanding economic realities when faced with economic misery??
