But understand that while terrorist acts are all too real, the "war on terror" is used to justify whatever Washington wants to do. Saudi Arabia sends money and weapons into Iraq too. But does Washington even so much as comment on that? Does Washington label Saudi Arabia a terrorist regime? Well, no. Bush is long time buddies with rulers of Saudi Arabia. And lest we forget, most of 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. And so what happened to them? Did Bush invade? Yes, only he chose to invade Iraq, which had a lot less to do with terror, and nothing to do with 9/11. Labeling the Iranian Republican Guard a "terrorist organization" is another step towards justifying the nuking of Iran (my opinion, others may not agree). Add that to continuously stating in the press of Iranian (but not Saudi) interference in Iraq, the building up of the US Naval forces in the Persian Gulf, reports starting from well over a year ago of US Special Forces operations already inside Iran, and the widely acknowledged talk that Bush intends to militarily resolve the Iranian situation before he leaves office. People need understand that the "war on terror" is used to justify plenty of actions that seem on the surface, as they are presented to us, to be part of the war on terror, but are really for whatever purpose Washington wants. No one is pretending terrorist acts do not happen. No one is pretending terrorists or countries that encourage them are the good guys. But make no mistake, the "war on terror" is being used by Washington as a political tool and cover to justify whatever it wants to do. (And that's not even getting into how it is used here at home)
