I didn't say there was a crusade over crucifixes - I said it had happened.

Re school curriculum - "trying" is different than doing. Its illegal to teach anything other than non-telelogical evolution in school.

Personally, I lean toward theistic evolution, but I understand the objection to creationism in school, however creationism was taught for a long long time in public schools and although public views are different now, the tradition does deserve some respect.
