Normally I will not let tax consequences weigh too much in my decision on whether to sell. Loss of confidence in management sure will, and I have lost quite a bit in QCOM (I have held most of my shares since 1992). I am not selling yet but the thought crosses my mind frequently.

If you've held since 1992, then overall you have a big gain. But compared to year 2K or so you have suffered great losses (as you say) - dead and rotting money. That is the proper way to look at it - a simple fact overlooked by many.

Also good point about importance of confidence in management.
