If the FBI printed their picture, there must be a serious reason for it....was it in the ST?

We didn't see them on our ferry to and from trip to Port Townsend this weekend...at least I don't think we did....

Most interesting Smithee....I wondered if the Seattle Times had that story. If they have printed it, it is buried someplace inside....The PI info is below...with no pics, and all three TV station online sources show picture and an article. You posted KOMO, and here are King and Kiro....

Can we trust the Seattle Times....Ever? Guess not.

The Seattle Times has nothing that I can find, and surprisingly the Seattle PI has this - (No pictures, and appears they have held the info so far....):

FBI FERRY ALERT: Since the Big Blog has taken a few comments on one of the whimsical Hempfest photographs we published online, it seems just as appropriate to open a discussion on some actual news photographs we didn't publish after far more serious consideration.

The photos depict what look like two Middle Eastern-looking men standing on a Washington state ferry. The photos were sent out to media outlets Monday, and at least one of the local TV newscasts showed the men prominently as one of the lead stories of the night. KOMO had it as the top story on its Web site.

Yet neither man has been charged with any crime and no new terror alert or even the implication of one has been issued.

The P-I is doing a story about the unusual way the photos were released to the media, and here are the first few paragraphs from Scott Gutierrez' report: (Read on)

BY SCOTT GUTIERREZ

The FBI is asking the public for help in identifying two men who were seen behaving unusually aboard several Washington state ferries.

About four weeks ago, the FBI fielded several reports from passengers and ferry workers about the men, who seemed "overly interested in the workings and layouts of the ferries," Special Agent Robbie Burroughs said Monday.

The FBI also publicized photos of the men, which were taken by a ferry employee, Burroughs said.

The FBI has no information suggesting that a terrorist attack on the ferry system is imminent, Burroughs said.

For weeks, the FBI has been trying to identify the men through "normal law enforcement channels," she said.

Despite the photos, the FBI was unable Monday to provide the men's height, weight or estimated age. Investigators also did not disclose which ferry runs they were spotted on.
