Don't know.

But the situation reminds me of an insurance company I used to represent regularly and still on occassion do. Now, you must remember that insurers are, well, often not the most, ah, brilliant folks in the world. This company gets into tremendous trouble it can usually avoid on a regular basis.

Whenever it gets into a tight situation, it simply throws money at the problem. This approach, though expensive, generally works. I suspect that this is how the BRCM debacle will go away.
