I hope that story doesn't get legs. Finally someone has pointed out Vick's limited talent as a QB

I got this from Fox - check out all the spelling errors!

Michael Vick: Not a Championship Quarterback on and off the field.
Aug 21, 2007 | 9:00AM | report this Hi friends,

I'll probably get some comments on this since this is the biggest story in the world of sports right now. I don't want to talk about it too much but I wanted to express my opinions here briefly. First what Michael Vick has done of the field with the dogfighting issues is totally wrong and bad no matter how you look at it because all those poor dogs are dead and killing was used for a gross sports practice and there is nothing right about that so Michael Vick gets whatever punishment he deserves and I hope he serves a long time to learn his lesson and he should forget about football. I don't know what circumstances would bring him back if any but that is only after his lessons in life come first and right now that is looking at hard time.

Now that being said I was never totally sold on Michael Vick as a championship quarterback either. Yes he did have extrordinary talent and was a Sportscenter highlight every week. He also had moments like leading the Falcons to an NFC Championship which the Falcons lost at the Eagles in 2004. He also led the Falcons to the first road playoff win for a team at Lambeau Field in Green Bay a few years earlier. But other than that Michael Vick and the Falcons never made the Super Bowl. Remember the Falcons only Super Bowl appearance a loss to Denver after the 1998 season occured with Chris Chandler at quaterback three years before Michael Vick was drafted by the Falcons.

Michael Vick has a good arm but he has mostly been a running quarterback and they don't win most of the time in the NFL. I just didn't see him in the role of Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, Roger Staubach, John Elway, Phil Simms, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or others as Super Bowl winning quarterbacks. If you want to compare him to other current African American quarterbacks I would rather have Donavon McNabb, Steve McNair and even Daunte Culpepper because they exhibit more of a class and talent both on and off the field that apparently Michael Vick didn't have in his character to be a true champion and role model in society. He is seen for the choices he made as we all are. I look forward to your comments friends and talk to you soon. Best wishes and have a great and productive day.
